Today I have prepared a another POMFRET RECIPE. It is popular authentic Bengali style shorse (Mustard seeds) Pomfret fish dish. It is a tasty & delicious recipe. This is one easiest recipe with minimal ingredients, shorse (mustard seeds), posto (puppy seeds) gravy. Pomfret fish is full of Omega 3 and Omega 6. Which is very good for heart health. This recipe is amazing simple yet tempting flavours. This Pomfret recipe goes well hot steamed rice. Now the recipe I will describe recipe step by step.
HOW TO MAKE SHORSE( MUSTARD) POMFRET
INGREDIENTS
Pomfret fish - 6 pieces
Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder
Shorse (Mustard seeds) paste - 2 tablespoons
Puppy seeds paste - 2 tablespoons
Garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
Green chilli - 4 no.
Nigella seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Mustard oil for fry and cooking.
PROCESS
At first marinate the Pomfret fish with some turmeric powder, salt, ginger garlic paste. Keep it for 15 minutes.
Pour mustard oil in a pan or karai heat it well. Now fry all Pomfret fish pieces & keep it in a plate.
Next add 1/2 teaspoon Nigella seeds, two slit green chilli in the same oil. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes.
Then add garlic paste, stir it. Next add mustard (shorse) and puppy (posto) seed paste, also add one teaspoon turmeric powder. Mix it well.
Add two cup water (water as required) and salt according to your taste. Cook it in high flame.
Now it's time to put the fried fish into the gravy, also add green chillies. Close the lid for 10 minutes in low to medium flame.
After 10 minutes, cook it high flame for 2 - 3 minutes to make curry thick as per your requirement.
Now ready your Shorse (Mustard) Pomfret. It's suitable to serve hot with steamed rice. Now it's time to enjoy test of Pomfret fish.
USEFUL NOTE
May you can use coriander leaves in the gravy as your choice but I am skip it. You can steam Pomfret fish, use same ingredients except ginger garlic paste and marinate with Pomfret fish, steam for 15 minutes for make steamed (Vhapa called in Bengali ) sorshe Pomfret.
